AMERICAN GINGER BEERS

Yates # refers to the designator assigned by Donald and Elizabeth Yates in there book, "Ginger Beer & Root Beer Heritage, 1790 - 1930"

Stock # 22321  Christian-Moerlein Brewing Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, type 2.

Size:  8 5/8"

Color:  Tan over beige

Printing:  TRADE MARK / THE-CHRISTIAN-MOERLEIN-BREWING-CO. / (coat of arms) / CINCINNATI-O / MOERLEIN'S / OLD / JUG LAGER / KRUG BIER   More on the sides, with hops plants, 2 cherubs below..  

Potter's Stamp:  PORT DUNDAS / GLASGOW / POTTERY CO.

Yates #:  OH-18

Condition:  Good.  Small base chip to the rear.  Printing somewhat blurry, especially cherubs.

Comments:  Very ornate bottle.  Ring top.

CANADIAN GINGER BEERS

C. & W. # refers to the designator assigned by Phil Culhane and Scott Wallace in their definitive work, "Transfer Printed Ginger Beers of Canada"

Yates # refers to the designator assigned by Donald and Elizabeth Yates in there book, "Ginger Beer & Root Beer Heritage, 1790 - 1930"

Stock # 21881  James Ready, St. John, New Brunswick #1

Size:  6 3/8" 

Color:  Brown

Printing:  Incised (debossed) JR near the base.  

Potter's Stamp:  None

Yates #:  N/A

Condition:  Excellent.  A couple of tiny, tiny nibbles to the shoulder.   The diagonal line on the front is an original glazing fault, and not

            post manufacturing damage. 

Comments:  Circa 1863, this is one of the earliest Canadian Ginger Beers.  LEFT HAND BOTTLE IN THE PICTURE.

Color:  Off white

Printing:  Incised (debossed) JR near the base.

Condition:  Excellent.  Just a bit of natural glaze crazing. 

Comments:  Circa 1863, this is one of the earliest Canadian Ginger Beers.  RIGHT HAND BOTTLE IN THE PICTURE.

Condition:  Very Good.  Just 2 very small chips, one off the shoulder and one off the base.

Comments:  Great pictorial of a corkscrew and cork.

Condition:  Excellent!

Comments:  From Llandudno, in Wales, this is a very nice clean ginger beer.

Condition:  Very Good.  A very small bruise on the lip.

Comments:  Another nice Welch Ginger Beer.
